Virtue in Reality

UX Design & Research

From doula to designer — I've always been in the business of understanding people.

As a doula, I held space for people in their most vulnerable moments. That depth of listening is what I bring to UX design and research — for BIPOC-owned, women-owned, and charitable organizations who deserve a digital presence as powerful as their mission.

About me

I came to design through people, not pixels.

Jasmine, founder of Virtue in Reality

For six years I worked as a doula — sitting with families through some of the most intense, tender, and transformative moments of their lives. That work taught me things no classroom can: how to read a room, how to ask the question behind the question, how to hold space without projecting, and how to advocate for someone when they don't have the words.

When I started studying UX design and research, I realized I'd been doing the core of this work all along — and doing it analytically. Every birth plan is a requirements doc. Every postpartum check-in is a user interview. Every time I helped a family navigate a system that wasn't built for them, I was doing accessibility work.

Now I'm channeling that into the digital world — specifically for BIPOC-owned businesses, women-owned organizations, and nonprofits doing real work in their communities. They deserve websites and digital experiences that actually work for the people they serve.

I know how to listen.

Six years as a doula taught me that real support starts with truly hearing someone. I bring that same presence to every research session, every client conversation, every design decision.

Good work deserves good design.

Organizations doing meaningful work in their communities shouldn't be held back by outdated or inaccessible websites. I'm here to change that — one thoughtful improvement at a time.

People are the whole point.

I didn't come to tech from a screen — I came from people. That's not a soft skill, it's the foundation. Every wireframe, audit, and prototype I make is grounded in what real humans actually need.

What I bring to the table

Research-grounded. Design-driven. Community-focused.

01

UX Research

User interviews, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and synthesis that turns real feedback into clear direction. I know how to ask the right questions and actually hear the answers.

02

UX Design

Wireframes, prototypes, and interaction design that centers the user's needs — not just what looks good on a screen. Designed for the people your organization actually serves.

03

Website Improvement Audits

A thorough review of your existing site — accessibility, usability, clarity — with actionable recommendations you can actually use. No jargon, no fluff.

Let's connect

Let's talk about what you're building.

Whether you're a recruiter, a nonprofit leader, or someone who just wants to make their corner of the internet more human — I'd love to hear from you.
